  • Head Shots & Portfolios

Casting Directors, Booking Agents and Advertising Executives look at hundreds, even thousands of HEAD SHOTS and PORTFOLIOS each day. Often with each one looking just like the one before. Creative, Dramatic HEAD SHOTS are what gets you noticed first. HEAD SHOTS that show off your unique "LOOK". Once the HEAD SHOTS have gotten their attention, A Creative and diversified PORTFOLIO will keep them interested. Your PORTFOLIO should reflect the diversity of your personality and a full range of your emotions. It is the professional presentation of both HEAD SHOTS & PORTFOLIO that can mean the difference between wanting and job and getting a job.

A good clear head shot is often the difference between want the job, and landing the job

Headshots should always make eye contact with the viewer

You never gat a second chance to make a first impression.

Make your your headshot shows off your best facial assets.

Head Shots are the first thing that a casting director will see of you. It is your first impression.  An as the saying goes, there is no second chance to make a first impression. Often it is that head shot that holds the casting directors attention. Head shots need to show you at your best. The need to be unique to you and the image you are trying to convey. Often men will have several headshots and resumes and offer the one that they feel will best address the need of the casting call. Headshots should always highlight the e yes,  EYE CONTACT IS VERY IMPORTANT IN A FIRST IMPRESSION !

Your Portfolio,

The models history of work and ability. It speaks of who you are, who you

can be and what photographers you have worked with. Diversity is key to a good portfolio.

Your Portfolio should reflect an overview of your style and the images that you wish to project. Your portfolio should never hold shots that no longer look like you. If you have special shots from past work, they belong in a archive section at the back of your book. The casting director want to see you as you are now, they want to see the person they are hiring. Your portfolio should also hold a good mix of color and black & white shots with artistic  work being mixed in for favorable effect. It is very important for the model and the photographer to share a common vision for the creation of the work and the portfolio. This is one of the reasons that each Classic Man Portfolio begins with an image consultation  to lay out the plan for shooting and the images and environments needed to show the model to his best advantage.

Costing for head shots, portfolios   and sitting fees are discussed in person with the model. Each model is given a written proposal of cost and actions. Often a trade (for up to 75% of the cost ) is offered to models who have a look that Classic Man wishes to use for its ongoing art projects. All contracts require a 50% deposit and final payments are required at the review of the shoot prior to selecting the final shots for your head shot and portfolio.
