The Photographer:

Stephen DeMatteis, has been capturing the true images of men  for almost 30 years. His unique ability to see deep into the heart and soul of his subject affords him a creative and artistic eye that is manifested through his camera.  He looks at all of his subjects as unique individuals who represent a  new and exciting challenge to him as an artist.  The challenge to see and thus show each man in his own true light and reality. Often breaking down the barriers that mask the true man from the worlds and sometimes even from himself.

Photography is his second career. He   He works as a clinical PhD working with adult males and their survival issues from Childhood abuse and violence.  A true advocate for men and the development of a society where men are free to live in the true and honest reality of their nature and not one of societal pressures.  His professional training and years of helping men find a truthful center helps when he is trying to bring out an honest emotion from his photographic subject. His work with not-for-profit organizations and their efforts in fund raising has helped groups around the country raise funds in the fight against AIDS & Cancer and in support of programs for the prevention of child abuse and domestic violence. He is also a supporter of natural wellness and the celebration of the whole human being.   His art work has been shown in galleries in New York, Boston,  Phoenix and Florida. He is currently working on a book of images and words that reflect his 30 plus years of working with men to capture TRUTH !
